The Saudi government has awarded US-based provider of technical and management support services, Aecom Technology Corp a $27.85m contract to provide architecture, engineering design and production services for King Khalid Medical City in Dammam. The project is the largest of four hospital developments planned for the kingdom. When complete, the medical city will include a 1,500-bed hospital, research centre, staff accommodation ranging from villas to apartments, conference centre, mosque, professional and administrative office building, car parking structures and community centre. Plans also include the potential for future educational facilities, a commercial complex and a hotel.
