Al Jaddaf is one of the localities in Dubai, which is primarily located in western part of the latter known as Bur Dubai. It is also bordered to the North and East by the Historical Dubai Creek, to the South by Zabeel, and to the West by Umm Hurair 2.
Historically, it literally means The Rower. It was primarily a Dhow Building Area of Dubai. In fact, its shipyards are the only site for the building and maintenance of these traditional boats. There are also some sports fields and facilities as well as the so called Al Wasl Hospital.
In addition, it is considered a meeting point of the two parts of Dubai Creek, such as Deira and Burj Dubai; as well as it reflects the heritage attraction with its new semblance. Actually it has a strategic position in the heart of Dubai. If you have a business or a residence within this area, you are just within the vicinity of the following landmarks of Dubai: Dubai Mall, Boulevard Mohammed Bin Rashid, and the largest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa that have already drawn millions of both business and leisure travelers.
